I loved the premise of the book, and I agree with you about the supernatural element being pointless in this book. I was looking for something more intriguing. I did like how he tied in to the memory of childhood cruelty, and the behavior of groups as opposed to individuals. I have read a limited number of King books, owing to the incredible number of them. I have to say that The Stand will always be number one in my book, Duma Key is a close second, and Under the Dome comes in at number three when I consider protagonists. I like Dale. A lot. He reminds me a bit of Stu Redmond.
3 wafflers...:
I haven't read a Stephen King novel in ages. This one sounds kind of intriguing.
The Stand pretty much consumed my life for about one month of my 16th year.
Much needed distraction. But it scared me to death and made me squirm.

Wait. Did I say "Great review!?" Because I meant to. Nicely analyzed.
